Quick answer: Take one Melonex capsule a day in the morning with an 8 oz glass of water. The brand says you can take up to two a day. If you take blood pressure medicine, nitrates or ED pills, ask your doctor first, because Melonex may lower blood pressure further.
Step by step
Check with your doctor
Especially if you take any heart or blood pressure medicine.
One capsule each morning
Swallow with a full 8 oz glass of water, with or after breakfast if your stomach is sensitive.
Stay at one for a week
Only move to two a day if you feel well and your doctor agrees.
Track your numbers
Measure blood pressure at home at the same time each day.
Avoid
- Doubling up after a missed dose.
- Stacking with other nitric oxide boosters.
- Exceeding the label.
Safety notes
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Melonex if:
- You take blood pressure medicine. L-arginine and L-citrulline may lower blood pressure further and cause dizziness or fainting.
- You take nitrates for chest pain (such as nitroglycerin) or erectile dysfunction pills such as sildenafil or tadalafil; the combination can drop blood pressure too far.
- You have had a heart attack. L-arginine should not be used after a recent heart attack, as one trial raised safety concerns.
- You have low blood pressure, kidney or liver disease, or are scheduled for surgery within two weeks.
- You get cold sores or genital herpes; arginine may trigger outbreaks in some people.
- You are pregnant, breastfeeding or under 18.
When to stop: stop and get advice if you feel dizzy, faint or light-headed, or have stomach pain or diarrhea that does not settle. Call emergency services for chest pain, shortness of breath or sudden weakness.
